Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations

Unless an item is expressly identified as Return Eligible at the time of purchase, all sales are final.

Return-Eligible Merchandise

Select regularly priced, in-stock new merchandise may be returned within 14 calendar days after delivery or an in-showroom purchase. Items must be unused, uninstalled, unassembled, unaltered, and returned in their original condition, with original packaging where applicable and proof of purchase.

Prior written authorization is required before any return will be accepted. Customers are responsible for arranging and paying return shipping, or may bring an approved return to our Costa Mesa showroom by appointment.

Please note all original shipping and delivery charges are non-refundable and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. We recommend all returns be sent insured and with tracking as we cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged products. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure the item is adequately packaged for return. Living Archive cannot accept responsibility for any packages lost, stolen or damaged in transit. Risk of loss or damage remains with the customer until the return is received and inspected by Living Archive.

Final-Sale Merchandise

Vintage, antique, found, previously owned, artwork, one-of-a-kind, custom, made-to-order, personalized, special-order, floor-model, display, sale, clearance, and trade merchandise is final sale unless expressly stated otherwise. Furniture, rugs, oversized merchandise, and freight-delivered items are also final sale unless expressly identified as Return Eligible.

Vintage, antique, found, and previously owned items are sold as is and with all faults. These items may show patina, age, wear, repairs, fading, oxidation, scratches, dents, and other evidence of prior use.

Unless otherwise stated, photographs of a one-of-a-kind item show the actual item and form part of its description. We do not separately catalogue every minor mark or ordinary sign of age that is visible in the photographs or reasonably inherent in the item. Known material condition issues that are not reasonably apparent from the photographs will be identified in the listing.

Handmade and natural-material products may vary from photographs in color, tone, texture, grain, veining, glaze, finish, dimensions, pattern placement, or other characteristics inherent to the material or production method.

Customers for whom exact condition, coloring, or variation is especially important are encouraged to request additional photographs, visit our showroom by appointment, or contact us before purchasing.

Cancellations and Changes

You may request a cancellation or change within 24 hours after ordering, provided fulfillment, packing, transfer, procurement, or production has not begun. A cancellation or change is effective only when confirmed by Living Archive in writing. Custom, made-to-order, personalized, and special-order purchases become noncancelable once production, procurement, or vendor processing begins.

Damaged, Incorrect, Defective, or Misdescribed Items

Please inspect your order promptly and contact orders@agathus.com within the following periods:

  • Parcel transit damage or an incorrect item: within 48 hours after delivery.

  • Visible freight damage: note the damage specifically on the delivery receipt before signing and contact us within 24 hours.

  • Concealed freight damage: contact us as soon as discovered and no later than five calendar days after delivery.

  • Material discrepancy from the product description: within seven calendar days after delivery.

  • Suspected manufacturing defect in new merchandise: promptly after discovering the issue.

Include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs or video of the item, affected area, exterior and interior packaging, shipping label, and delivery paperwork, where applicable.

Please keep all packaging and do not repair, install, use, clean, discard, or alter the item while the matter is under review.

Depending on the circumstances, product availability, applicable law, and any applicable third-party warranty, the resolution may include replacement parts, return authorization, a price adjustment, store credit, or refund. 

Requesting a Return

In-person return is not available for every item. Oversized, overweight, freight-delivered, crated, palletized, or otherwise difficult-to-handle merchandise may be returned to the showroom only with our prior written approval and after all receiving requirements have been confirmed.

The customer is responsible for arranging and paying for all transportation, delivery, unloading, liftgate service, forklift service, equipment, and labor required to safely return the item. Living Archive is not required to provide loading or unloading assistance and may refuse delivery if the required equipment, personnel, appointment, or access arrangements have not been made in advance.

Unannounced return drop-offs or freight deliveries cannot be accepted. Any resulting redelivery, storage, waiting-time, or related charges are the customer’s responsibility.

Refunds

Once an authorized return is received, we will conduct a quality-control review. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5–7 business days after receipt. Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to post the credit.

Living Archive may decline or reduce a refund if an item is returned used, damaged, altered, incomplete, inadequately packaged, or outside the authorized return period.

If a shipment is delivered to the address provided but is not retrieved, is refused, or is returned to sender, the original shipping charges remain nonrefundable. Additional return, storage, or redelivery charges may also apply.

 

 

Living Archive is a trade name of Agathus Studios LLC. Agathus Studios LLC dba Living Archive is the legal seller of all merchandise purchased through Living Archive. By completing a purchase, you agree to this policy.
