Shipping policy
Shipping, Delivery & Local Pickup
Shipping and delivery options vary by product, destination, size, weight, value, fragility, and availability.
Where We Ship
We ship to valid street addresses within the 48 contiguous United States. We do not currently offer direct international shipping. With prior written approval, we may deliver to a U.S.-based freight forwarder or receiving warehouse selected by the customer.
Parcel carriers may not deliver certain products to P.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses, private mailboxes, or restricted locations. Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, islands, and other limited-service destinations require advance approval and a special quote, if available.
Processing and Lead Times
Unless otherwise stated on the product page or order confirmation:
-
In-stock parcel-shippable accessories and décor generally require 3–5 business days before shipment.
-
In-stock furniture and oversized items generally require 5–10 business days before release, plus carrier coordination.
-
Made-to-order, custom, pre-order, backordered, and freight-quoted items have variable lead times based on the product and vendor.
Processing time does not include carrier transit time or delivery scheduling. All processing, shipment, and delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing.
If we learn that we cannot ship within the stated timeframe, we will provide an updated estimate and any cancellation or refund options available for the unshipped item.
Shipping and Delivery Methods
Parcel Shipping
Smaller items may be shipped by UPS, FedEx, USPS, or a similar parcel carrier.
Freight and Specialty Delivery
Large, heavy, high-value, or exceptionally fragile pieces may be marked Inquire for Shipping and require a written delivery quote before the order is finalized.
Available options may include palletized freight, curbside delivery, threshold delivery, room-of-choice delivery, or white-glove delivery. The service included with your order will be identified in the quote or order confirmation.
Unless expressly included in writing, delivery does not include assembly, installation, mounting, hardwiring, plumbing, anchoring, hoisting, removal of existing furniture, or disposal of extraordinary crates or pallets.
Shipping Charges and Additional Services
Shipping and delivery charges are calculated or quoted based on factors that may include destination, value, weight, dimensions, packaging, crating, service level, residential or commercial access, stairs, long carries, limited access, and other special handling.
If an additional material charge becomes necessary, we will request your approval before proceeding. If you decline the revised charge, we may cancel and refund the affected unshipped item.
Optional transit coverage may be offered for certain shipments. Any applicable terms, limits, exclusions, and charges will be disclosed before purchase.
Fit, Access, and Delivery Preparation
Before ordering, compare the product and packaged dimensions with every doorway, gate, hallway, stairwell, elevator, landing, turn, and intended placement. We cannot accept a return because an item does not fit or cannot be brought safely into the space.
Before delivery, you are responsible for:
-
Confirming building hours, loading access, parking, elevator reservations, move-in rules, and certificate-of-insurance requirements.
-
Disclosing stairs, long carries, narrow roads, steep driveways, limited truck access, or other access conditions.
-
Clearing the delivery path and intended placement area.
-
Ensuring that an authorized adult is present for the full delivery window.
Additional access, waiting-time, storage, redelivery, failed-appointment, hoisting, or equipment charges are the customer’s responsibility.
Inspection at Delivery
Please inspect freight and specialty deliveries before signing. Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt, photograph the shipment before and during unpacking, and keep all packaging until the item has been fully inspected.
Report visible freight damage within 24 hours after delivery. Report concealed freight damage as soon as it is discovered and no later than five calendar days after delivery. Carrier requirements vary and may require faster action.
A clean delivery receipt can make a later carrier claim substantially more difficult.
Risk of Loss and Missing Shipments
When Living Archive selects or arranges the carrier, Living Archive bears the risk of loss or transit damage until the order is delivered to the address provided by the customer. Timely reported loss or damage will be handled under our Returns & Final Sale Policy.
If tracking appears stalled or a shipment may be lost, contact us promptly. If tracking shows delivery but the package cannot be located, check the delivery area, household members, neighbors, building staff, mailroom, and any carrier photograph or notice, then contact the carrier and Living Archive as soon as possible.
Where Living Archive arranged the shipment, we will manage the carrier investigation. If the shipment is confirmed lost in transit, we will provide a replacement, subject to availability, or a refund. Loss or theft occurring after confirmed correct delivery is the customer’s responsibility, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
If you select your own carrier, freight forwarder, receiving warehouse, or other delivery agent, that party acts as your shipping agent and risk passes to you when the merchandise is released to it in good condition. You are responsible for onward transportation, inspection, transit coverage, export documentation, customs, duties, taxes, foreign-law compliance, and claims arising after release.
